ABOUT

ArGoStuff.com was created on 12 March 2004 by Gregory Radziewicz (GregRadZ). The purpose of the forum was to provide a place where users, new and experienced, could ask questions on ArGoSoft Mail Server and related matters without being flamed. That is the standard that we strive to maintain.

This is a user to user support forum. Here, everyone helps each other. There is no paid support staff, and those who are Forum Moderators and Administrators volunteer their time to assist others.

HISTORY

The forums started out using the Snitz forum software which ran classic ASP (Active Server Pages). In late November 2005 Greg moved the forums over to a PhP based forums using Nuke Evo. This remained in effect until 14 December 2006. Just prior to that Greg had decided that he no longer wished to host the ArGoStuff forums. At that point the hosting of the forums was was passed on to Steve Topilnycky (SteveT). On the 14th of December 2006 Greg transferred the ArGoStuff.com domain name over to Steve. The forums are now running on DotNetNuke framework using ASP.NET 2.0 using Active Forums.

ArGoSoft Mail Server .NET v1.0.5.6

Mail Server

  • Added an option to encrypt password, rather than hash them. If passwords are encrypted, they can be retrieved and restored, while hashed passwords can not be restored;
  • Now mail server will install even if there is no SQL Server on the computer, giving the user a chance to connect to the SQL server on another computer;
  • Improved error handling in setups of the Windows Vista and 2008 server. If there is an error 2869, it will attempt to display actual error which caused it;

Web Interface

  • Updated the setup file, so that uninstall of the previous version will occur automatically;

Quick fix for Mail Server .NET 1.0.5.5

There was a serious bug in the domain group administration portion of the web interface. When updating user records of not _Default domain, accounts were "disappearing" (recreation of them would restore them though).

If you have downloaded the web interface before the moment (6:23 pm GMT, 2:23 pm EDT, 11:23 am PDT and so on), please download it again, and install as if you were installing a regular upgrade.

Sorry for all the trouble.
