| Try it Now. I upgraded the DNN Framework, and one of the features is compression, to help improve performance, but I forgot to exclude ZIP and PDF from the compression.
I just tried it and it appears to be working. Please let me know if you were able to download it. | | - - - - - - -

| No sir Still not able to download it. I can't download any files from this website.. Also tried the "Outlook Clone 1.43" but no go. It looks like its going to download, asks me where to save it etc, but then just sits there trying to connect for a few minutes then says server timed out. | | | |

| Hmmm.. Looks like the repository module is having an issue with the compression. I have now turned it off, and cleared the cache. I just tried 3 other download links and it appears to be working now.
Let me know how it goes again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

| Okay, I made some configurations changes, cleared the cache both via the application and manually, rebooted the server and restored the files from a backup. In detailed testing, I was able to download the files without any corruption, and yes, I was able to replicate the problem you reported. You should not have any further problems. As for direct downloading, that is not possible as the files are stored in such a fashion that gives them a unique file name within the portal structure. This addition to the file name is removed when you do to download it. | | - - - - - - -

| Thanks! It worked this time. Too bad I have to leave the localhost blank .. I can't do that.. I really think ArgoSoft should let us specify that ourselves, I think it's a pretty big security issue especially for script kiddies .. | | | |

| I dont think the tut is completly correct incase other people were wondering. I didn't have to leave the localhost field blank. I used WinHEX and did the search per the pdf, but I changed the value to the following..
SMTP: 220 %s OK 220 %s
POP3: +OK %s %s +OK OK Now my dnsreport.com says SMTP: 220 mydomain.com OK and POP3 Just says +OK OK Awesome! Thought I would let you know  | | | |

| Thanks for the update. I am glad that I was able to correct the issue with the downloads. As for the.. Keep in mind, that was originally written a long time ago. ArGo Mail server has be update and improved so much since that time. I still don't recommend hacking the application, and as noted in that document, it could cause unpredictable results. IMO That little bit of info that is displayed will tell someone what server & version, but if someone is determined on launching some sort of attack specifically at you, there are so may ways to do so, including a simple DOS attack. Also when a security related issue is discovered, Archie has been quick to react and make the fix. | | - - - - - - -

Active Forums 4.2 |
|  | | Mail Server v1.0.8.3 |
- Added support of STARTTLS (STLS) command for SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and SMTP relay and delivery, which will
allow secure, fully encrypted connections, when possible;
| | 11/6/2011 1:10:34 PM |
| Mail Server v1.0.8.2 |
- Optimized delivery speed. In earlier versions each "tick" which was checking whether messages were
in the outbox queue, was picking up only one message at a time. Now it will attempt to pick MaximumAllowedThreads-ActiveDelivery threads
messages, which should considerably increase deliver speed;
- Optimized SEARCH and STATUS IMAP commands. They appear to be used very extensively by Android, and (not that extensively, but still) by
iPhone. Now users who use mobile phones to access their IMAP accounts will see considerable improvement;
- Optimized STORE IMAP command. Before storing of IMAP flags was occuring one message at a time, which seemed to be fine
with SQL server, but proved to be slow for SQLite... Now it happens with single SQL call.

| ArGoSoft Mail Server v1.0.8.1 | -
Fixed a bug: when using IMAP via Firefox with "When I delete a message, move it
to Trash folder" option, marking messages in the trash folder was causing high CPU usage,
and was taking some time, making the server pretty much non-responsive. The problem was
happening only when using SQLite.

| ArGoSoft Mail Server v1.0.8.0 |
- Fixed a problem with web interface - was showing only first page of messages, and would not
switch to other pages; In order to fix the web interface, mail server itself has to be updated;
- When installint initially, was still using SQLite, even when SQL was requested;
- There was a problem with switching from SQLite database engine to SQL server database engine:
the SQL database was not being created;
| | 5/23/2011 5:53:55 PM |
| ArGoSoft Mail Server .NET v1.0.7.9 |
- The server no longer requires Microsoft SQL Server. If SQL server is not found, it will use
SQLite engine, which does not require separate installation. If SQL server is found, then user will be
prompted whether he wants to use it;
- Made other improvements, such as, now mailbox rebuild indexes orphaned records, rather then deleting them,
also added an opotion to increment UIDL validity of folder (both on the Mailbox viewer box);
- Made minor improvements on web interface;
