I recently upgraded the mail server to 1.0.4.9.  Since I have been getting this strange problem with the POP protocol whereby users with a large amount of email messages in their inbox (200+ messages) are unable to download all of their messages completely using the Outlook Client.  In the log file as I watch these requests occurring the following error message is received.

ERROR: Error reading the string

For example let's say "user X" has 400 messages.  They initiate a receive command on their Outlook client - it downloads approximately 72 messages and then stops - with the resulting error messages. When "user X" initiates a second receive command - it does not remember that it has downloaded the original 72 messages and dowloads them again - then the error occurs - "ERROR:  Error reading the string" and this pattern is repeated and they are unable to receive the remaining 328 messages.  (Granted many are SPAM)

Is this a known issue or bug with 1.0.4.9?
 
Fortunately - I have my customers using the Web Interface in the interim - however would appreciate any assistance to resolve.

I have not experienced this issue, but again I don't recall retrieving 400+ messages in one session. My best recommendation is to take a segment of your logs that show this issue and send it to Archie (the developer). He would be the best one to address this issue.
