| Good evening,
I just upgraded the version of Mail Server Pro Argosoft to the new one. NETs.
I have a problem. In the Pro version, have set a mailing list. In the new version. NET, I could just set "distribution list". There is no version on the mailing list. NET?
Thanks for everything!
Ferran

| Hi! I'm searching a mail server with mailing list functions and I have found and tried this, but I think that there is no more the useful mailing list in the latest version. The strange fact is that 1 or more year ago I had found the mailing list server here, I'm sure! Normally an upgrade add function, not remove..... I'm very sorry.

| Antonio,
The list server feature was available in the Pro Edition of Mail server. Both the availability and official support for the Pro edition has ended. The .NET was a complete re-write of the code, as I understand it. As I posted in another message to you, you can contact the developer, Archie, and make the feature request. | | - - - - - - -

| Yes, the new .NET version of the Mail Server does not have mailing list capability and does not have integrated webmail like the old Mailserver Pro. I did not want to use IIS for webmail requiring a different port since I am using Abyss for my regular web server. The old Mail Server Prod was great and why the developer did not make the .NET version as robust as the old Mail Server Pro is beyond me. So I moved to hMailserver which makes it easy to use SquirrelMail with Abyss. Still don't have mailing list though. But it's free and actively supported, easy to manage and install. Also moved off of Argosoft FTP and went to FileZilla server (free) so kind of done with Agrosoft. Had they made the new .NET like the old Mail Server Pro, they never would have lost a customer. The lesson here is if you are going to force customers to move to another product, make sure it is equal to or greater than the old.

| I have upgraded to the .NET version. It run fine, i have no problems. But the absence of the mailing list is a irremissible lack, I have lose some features with this version. The Pro no needs the SQL, no needs IIS, is all in one, setup in 5 mins and has an user friendly interface. When I have setup the webmail in the .NET version, I had a great headache! I have contacted the developer but he don't seems interested to add the mailing list feature to the .NET version. I'm very sorry.
I am an IT professional and we have suggested (and buyed) several PRO for our customers and all are using the mailing list. Now we have two chances: 1) Search other products 2) Continue to install the Pro version with limited support and without any future upgrade. The developer has offer me this chance.

Active Forums 4.2 |
|  | | Mail Server v1.0.8.3 |
- Added support of STARTTLS (STLS) command for SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and SMTP relay and delivery, which will
allow secure, fully encrypted connections, when possible;
| | 11/6/2011 1:10:34 PM |
| Mail Server v1.0.8.2 |
- Optimized delivery speed. In earlier versions each "tick" which was checking whether messages were
in the outbox queue, was picking up only one message at a time. Now it will attempt to pick MaximumAllowedThreads-ActiveDelivery threads
messages, which should considerably increase deliver speed;
- Optimized SEARCH and STATUS IMAP commands. They appear to be used very extensively by Android, and (not that extensively, but still) by
iPhone. Now users who use mobile phones to access their IMAP accounts will see considerable improvement;
- Optimized STORE IMAP command. Before storing of IMAP flags was occuring one message at a time, which seemed to be fine
with SQL server, but proved to be slow for SQLite... Now it happens with single SQL call.

| ArGoSoft Mail Server v1.0.8.1 | -
Fixed a bug: when using IMAP via Firefox with "When I delete a message, move it
to Trash folder" option, marking messages in the trash folder was causing high CPU usage,
and was taking some time, making the server pretty much non-responsive. The problem was
happening only when using SQLite.

| ArGoSoft Mail Server v1.0.8.0 |
- Fixed a problem with web interface - was showing only first page of messages, and would not
switch to other pages; In order to fix the web interface, mail server itself has to be updated;
- When installint initially, was still using SQLite, even when SQL was requested;
- There was a problem with switching from SQLite database engine to SQL server database engine:
the SQL database was not being created;
| | 5/23/2011 5:53:55 PM |
| ArGoSoft Mail Server .NET v1.0.7.9 |
- The server no longer requires Microsoft SQL Server. If SQL server is not found, it will use
SQLite engine, which does not require separate installation. If SQL server is found, then user will be
prompted whether he wants to use it;
- Made other improvements, such as, now mailbox rebuild indexes orphaned records, rather then deleting them,
also added an opotion to increment UIDL validity of folder (both on the Mailbox viewer box);
- Made minor improvements on web interface;
