Is there a way to manually create an email (as a text file) and put it into the "_outbox" folder?  If so, what does the file have to contain or what is the format for it?  And do I have to name it something specific?

Yes.... Your best bet would be to grab a copy of one that is in the outbox (without attachments).... Then copy that format... I believe they are .eml's? There will be extra stuff added at the top for retries, etc..... that you don't need... Good luck!

Please note: Starting with v1.8.5.4 of the Pro Version, it is not enough to place the file into the outbox. It also has be be registered with the outbox database. This means you should not attempt to use the method of creating out files and putting them into the outbox, should use the COM objects, SENDMAIL AND SENDMAIL1, PUTTOOUTBOX  method.

Here is the FAQ on it:  http://www.argosoft.com/docs/out_file_format.txt
