Hi all. I've installed Paranoid. When I finally got SQL working right, Argo won't recognize that it's installed (it is).
In looking at the sssolutions forum for advice, I found lively discussions about Paranoid and Ewall.
What do y'all use? Looks to me like Paranoid is an abbreviated version of Ewall and Mailfilter.
If you had it to do over again, what would you use?
Thanks John

John, I use eWall & Paranoid. Prior to eWall, I used Mail Filter. eWall is a front end proxy, which allows you to do a great deal of filtering and controlling of connections. Mail Filter also allows you to do filtering but it is processed by ArGo as a server extension, so ArGo handles all of the connections, so there are features available in eWall that are not available in Mail Filter. Paranoid uses Bayes statistical analysis, to determine the probability of spam. I guess I could say that is it features could be comparable to spam assassin, but I have never use SA, so I am not entirely sure of SA's abilities. As for SQL, what version of SQL are you using? |

I'm using MySQL now. I got Paranoid working pretty well. It's tagging my mails as [Spam]. I'm still checking through SAProxy on my end. SA is tagging many with its ***SPAM*** note that Paranoid is missing. I'm going to let Paranoid run for a few days before I try EWall. When I put both of them up yesterday, my CPU went to 100%. I suspect that was my virus scanner but I'm going to let thing level out before I jump ahead. |

- Added data rebuild external utitlity (MailServerReset.exe), and a popup menu option to
reset/rebuild user mailboxes and entire domain groups;
- Mailbags and domains now support a * wildcard as a subdomain name, e.g., *.argosoft.com includes
mail.argosoft.com, junk.argosoft.com, and so on...
- When bouncing messages to local addresses, using local delivery handler, which have been recently
used for local delivery... It turned out, it was not working when sending bounced messages to
local users, messages were going to the queue. This change will considerably reduce server load;
